A DPO for your Multi-Academy Trust

The GDPR introduces a duty for you to appoint a data protection officer (DPO) if you are a public authority. It is also seen as good practice for a school to appoint a Data Protection Officer to assure compliance with GDPR. The DPO's role is to help you to demonstrate compliance and can help you focus on accountability in line with the GDPR

Advantages of an external Data Protection Officer

Most Multi-Academy Trust's prefer to appoint an external Data Protection Officer for reasons of qualifications, employee participation, termination and costs (the latter especially) because of the ongoing training of the internal Data Protection Officer may be required.

What are the contract terms for a Multi-Academy Trust DPO?

The contract terms for an external Data Protection Officer depend on the size of your Multi-Academy Trust. These can range from 2 years to 3 years and are available for renewal on an on going basis.

​During the duration of the contract all on-line resources are made available to the Trust and leaders can monitor each schools progress from a central location by simply logging onto their MAT's GDPR Schools Portal . A discounted rate will also be considered for academies purchasing our service on a ‘trust-wide’ service level agreement.
